Before Booking Questions ( Q1 - Q5 )
Q1: Can I pay for my trip with my Debit Card?
You can pay for your trip on Farecrawler.com using either your credit card or debit card issued by a US bank or institution. We do not accept international credit and debit cards.
Q2: Can I pay for my trip using an international credit card?
Farecrawler.com only accepts payment using a credit card or debit card issued by a US bank or institution. We do not accept international credit and debit cards.
Q3: The flights offered as a result to my search require a change of airports. Do I have enough time to make that connection?
Farecrawler.com is committed to offering you the cheapest flight deals for your trip. Sometimes this requires a change of airports at your transfer city (for example you fly from New York to Rome via London and the flight from New York gets you into London Heathrow airport and the connecting flight leaves from London Gatwick airport). We only show you connections where you should have enough time to transfer between the airports. We only recommend these offers to seasoned travelers as there is always a risk of traffic delays or other unforeseen matters that may prevent you from making the connection. Furthermore you need to be aware of Visa regulations, as these transfers require immigration into the country and therefore you might need a immigration visa rather than a transfer visa. Changing airports can be a great way of saving money but please be aware of the possible hassle that comes with the savings.
Q4: What can you tell me about the company behind Farecrawler.com?

Q5: Which security measures does Farecrawler.com have in place to protect my credit card data?
We want you to feel safe and secure booking your travel with us online. For this reason, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your credit card and other sensitive information when you make reservations for flights. The process of encryption prevents unauthorized individuals from viewing your information as it is securely transmitted over the Internet. Once received, your credit card information is not transmitted over the Internet again.
We also will only ship paper airline tickets to the credit card billing address. Although this may present a slight inconvenience in some situations, it has proven successful in eliminating unauthorized use of credit cards.
Q6: The ticket confirmation email that I received shows a booking reference code. Does this mean that my ticket has been issued?
Within minutes of booking, you will receive an email confirmation with a booking reference code which means that your reservation is successfully completed. One of our experienced customer care agents will begin processing your booking. During the quality check and ticketing process, our agents will (among many other things):
Check for accuracy of the booking and ensure that no spelling errors occurred, the right airports are selected and that the minimum connecting times at the airports meets the airlines' standard requirements
Double-check if we can find an even cheaper fare for your requested flights at the point when we issue your ticket (s) and let you know in case that happens
Check if the booked flights require paper ticket issuance by the airlines
Match the billing address and other credit card data provided by you with the data provided by credit cards
Get credit card approvals to issue the tickets
If during this process any questions come up, we will contact you by phone or email to clarify the issue. After all is cleared, will issue the ticket(s) and send a confirmation email with all the travel itinerary details and the ticket number to your email within two business days.
Q7: How can I check my booking status?
Go on "Your Trip" on www.farecrawler.com and click on the "checkmytrip.com" link. Once the new window opens, just type in your booking reference code that you received with the email confirmation from Farecrawler and your last name (and of the travelers). You will then be able to see all detailed information, including the status of the reservation, ticket number(s) once the tickets are issued by the airlines and whether the tickets are e-tickets or paper tickets.
Q8: How can I select my seat?
Once you make your reservation and received a confirmation from Farecrawler that the tickets have been issued (within 2 business days), you can call the respective airline and arrange your preferred seat reservation directly. A few airlines, however, will not make seat reservations for customers who did not purchase directly through the airline and will ask the customer to check with the agent where the ticket was purchased. In these cases our Farecawler.com service center will be happy to assist you in finding your seats. Please call us at 1-800-779-5350 during normal business hours (Mon - Fri, 10:30am - 9:30pm EST).
Some airlines will let you use the booking reference code # to get the reservation information directly from their web site. For example, British Airways will allow you to make advanced seat reservations using that reference code on their website. The same can be done on Northwest airlines, using the NW reference code that you find once you look up your itinerary on checkmytrip.com.
Please mind that some airlines don't allow seat reservations at all. For example most intra-European flights connecting to your transatlantic flight can not be reserved in advance. These seats will be assigned upon check in.
For detailed information on seat assignment services and other services by the airline, check out their website or call them. Under the "Your Trip" tab you will find web links and toll free numbers for all major airlines.
Q9: What if I have a special meal preference?
After you make your reservation and received our confirmation that the tickets have been issued, most airlines will allow you to call them directly to arrange your special meal request. A few airlines, however, do not accept special meal requests from customers who did not purchase their tickets with the airline directly and will ask the customer to check with the agent where the ticket was purchased. In these cases our Farecawler.com service center will be happy to assist you in requesting a special meal. Please call us at 1-800-779-5350. Please mind that some airlines don't service special meals at all.
For detailed information on special meal preferences and other services by the airline, check out their website or call them. Under the "Your Trip" tab you will find web links and toll free numbers for all major airlines.
Q10: Will I earn Frequent Flier miles for tickets purchased through Farecrawler.com?
You may be eligible for Frequent Flier miles directly from your airline; however, eligibility is contingent upon the individual airline's rules. Frequent flier miles may not be available for some deeply discounted fares. In order to verify eligibility, present your account information at the check-in counter prior to the departure of your flight.
Q11: I want to cancel my reservation as I will not be able to travel on the day I chose when I purchased my ticket. Please tell me what I should do?
All tickets are non-refundable. That said, some tickets may qualify for a credit towards your future travel within one year for travel on same airline you are holding the ticket with. To check if your ticket qualifies for this offer, please contact the airline directly with your ticket number and confirm with them. Check the "Your Trip" tab to find web links and toll-free numbers of all major airlines.
If the airline allows a rebooking and you ask us to change your previously issued ticket, we charge a 25$ reissue fee on top of any change fees which are imposed by the airlines. Please read and acknowledge our terms and conditions before purchasing tickets.
Q12: I booked my flight and still I have not received a confirmation e-mail? What should I do?
Your booking reservation confirmation should have been sent to you via email within minutes after the ticket is processed. If you have not received any confirmation e-mail from us, please call the customer service center at 1-800-779-5350 during the hours of 10:30AM - 9:30 PM EST Monday through Friday and a customer service representative will gladly assist you.
Q13: When will I receive my ticket?
As soon as the tickets are issued which will be done within two business days, we will send you a confirmation email with all the flight details and the Ticket Number. In the meantime you can check your booking status on www.farecrawler.com on the "Your Trip" tab. There you will find a link to checkmytrip.com. All you need to do is put in your booking reference code that you received with your first confirmation email and you last name and you will see all the details including ticket number once the ticket(s) are issued. If the airline requires a paper ticket we will contact you to verify delivery address and send it to you.
