The information below is intended to explain what taxes and fees apply when searching the cheapest possible air fares and booking your flights with us. We don't want to bore you with all the legal stuff so we tried to keep it as simple as possible.

The prices you'll see displayed showing on our site include all applicable taxes and fees to be collected by the airline and remitted to the government.

Please review this taxes and fees page from time to time as they are subject to change.

An E-ticket is a paperless method of ticketing flights and offers convenience as well as a lower price. If you prefer to receive paper tickets, you can select to pay an additional fee at the time of purchase. Please note that in some instances the airline may require you to purchase a specific type of ticket certain carriers charge
  • We charge a paper ticket processing fee of up to 50$ per reservation regardless if you choose paper tickets as your preferred ticket option or if it is the only ticket option available offered by the airline.
  • Certain airlines charge paper ticket fees of up to $50.00 USD per ticket for you to receive paper tickets. Often carrier charge this fee even if they don't offer electronic tickets on same cases.

Other surcharges imposed by the airlines like oil or weekend surcharges

Almost every airline adds surcharges to the ticket prices due to the high cost of oil these days. The surcharges can be up to 4000 $ per ticket for international destinations. Depending on the airline the surcharge is already included in the base fare that we display or are added as taxes and therefore displayed separately. Using our lowest possible airfare display methodology fixfares and flexfares we display the oil surcharges by airlines that add them to the base fare as part of the base fare. The fare display of airlines that charge the oil surcharge as a tax adds these taxes to the amount of taxes collected.

Farecrawler.com offers a leading technology in fare search methodology. By nature of the a fare driven online travel search, we put possible price of a ticket first. Fares displayed by us showing fixfares are accurate fares including, all taxes, fees and surcharges. The total travel or ticket prices can however be different by the time you actually reserve and buy the ticket. Airline prices and availability can change from one second to the next. Because of that it can happen that the actual prices asked by the airline is higher or in many cases lower than what Farecrawler.com quoted as a result to your request.

Some final words

When we list an amount as "taxes," on the site, that sometimes mean "tax recovery charges." That means simply that the airlines and not us have the obligation to collect any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges and remit them to the government. Therefore, what we are collecting from you is actually a "tax recovery charge" that is equal to the amount we expect the airlines to bill us so they can pay those taxes, governmental fees and other charges to the authorities.

By making reservation through farcrawler.com you agree to abide by the policies described herein as well as the Terms and conditions governing your use of this site. Please review these policies from time to time as they are subject to change.
